Why does my FairFX sign-in screen look different?
If you registered for a FairFX account before 24th August 2023 and have not manually upgraded to the new FairFX online platform, you may notice that your sign-in page looks different.
Please note: If your card number starts with 5392, 5339, 5195, 5313, or 5223, your account was registered before 24th August 2023.
If your sign-in page looks different, your account may have been automatically upgraded to our new platform, with all funds held in your previous FairFX account, mobile app, and cards automatically moved across to your “Account balance” within the new FairFX platform and mobile app.
All FairFX cards (including Linked cards) previously associated with your account will have been cancelled and will need to be reordered within the new platform. This can easily be done from either a desktop or our new mobile app, titled "FairFX" (available from the App Store and Google Play Store).

Please note: If your address has recently changed and you did not update it on your account, please contact us before ordering a new card within the new platform.

What steps do I need to take?
When prompted, either by email or within the current platform, follow the provided instructions to upgrade your FairFX account and download the new FairFX app (available in the App Store and Google Play store).
Following instructions will automatically move all funds to your new account with the same contact information and login details. When your new account is created, your current Currency Card will need to be reissued and you will have the option to choose between a physical or a virtual card.
- If you choose a virtual card, it’ll be issued straight away, ready for you to use.
- If you choose a physical card, we’ll process the order and have it delivered to you within 5 working days. However, from the moment you order a physical card, we’ll issue you a virtual version to start using at home or abroad straight away while you wait for your physical card to arrive. Once the physical card is activated, the virtual card will be cancelled.
Notable changes
Any existing Linked cards on your current account won’t be moved over to the new platform and will be cancelled. If you would like to continue using Linked cards, you’ll need to follow the required steps to recreate them and have them reissued within the new platform.
Linked Cards will no longer have specific colours that represent their functionality. However, we’re excited to be releasing a new card design that will cover both personal and Linked cards.
Any existing Beneficiaries on your current account will not be moved over to the new platform. If required, all Beneficiaries will need to be set up again on the new FairFX platform.
How we keep your money safe
We hold your funds in specially designated, safeguarded bank accounts, which keep your funds separated from our other assets. This means your funds are protected, however the FairFX account does not fall under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Please see FAQs for more details.
